Our Mission

Shouht is a location-based community where people connect with those around them. Our mission is to foster genuine, local connections while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. These guidelines help ensure that Shouht remains a positive space for authentic community building.

By using Shouht, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines in addition to our Terms of Service. Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent bans.

1. Content Guidelines

1.1 Prohibited Content

The following types of content are not allowed on Shouht:

Hate Speech & Discrimination

  • Content that attacks, demeans, or incites violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Use of slurs, derogatory terms, or symbols associated with hate groups
  • Dehumanizing comparisons or generalizations about protected groups

Violence & Threats

  • Threats of physical harm to yourself or others
  • Content that glorifies, promotes, or incites violence
  • Graphic depictions of violence or gore
  • Instructions for creating weapons or harmful substances

Sexual Content

  • Pornographic or sexually explicit content
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn")
  • Sexual solicitation or prostitution
  • Content sexualizing minors (absolutely zero tolerance - immediate permanent ban and report to authorities)

Illegal Activities

  • Content promoting or facilitating illegal activities
  • Sale or distribution of illegal drugs, weapons, or controlled substances
  • Fraud, scams, or financial exploitation
  • Theft, vandalism, or property crimes

Harmful Misinformation

  • False information that could cause physical harm (e.g., dangerous "cures" or safety misinformation)
  • Election or voting misinformation during election periods
  • Content that denies documented atrocities or violent events

1.2 Spam & Manipulation

To maintain authentic engagement, the following behaviors are prohibited:

  • Posting repetitive, identical, or near-identical content
  • Using bots or automated tools to post, vote, or engage
  • Artificially inflating engagement through coordinated activity
  • Selling or trading accounts, followers, votes, or Rizz
  • Unsolicited advertising or commercial solicitation
  • Clickbait or misleading content designed to drive traffic elsewhere

1.3 Privacy Violations

Respect others' privacy. The following is prohibited:

  • Sharing personal information about others without consent (doxxing)
  • Posting photos or videos of others without their permission
  • Sharing private conversations or messages publicly
  • Stalking, tracking, or monitoring others' locations

2. Behavior Guidelines

2.1 Harassment & Bullying

Shouht is a place for positive interaction. The following behaviors are not tolerated:

  • Targeted harassment or sustained unwanted contact
  • Cyberbullying, intimidation, or humiliation
  • Coordinated attacks or "pile-ons" against individuals
  • Creating accounts to evade blocks or bans
  • Encouraging others to harass someone

2.2 Impersonation

Authenticity matters. You may not:

  • Impersonate other individuals, brands, or organizations
  • Pretend to be a Shouht employee, moderator, or representative
  • Use misleading profile information to deceive others
  • Create fake accounts to manipulate community dynamics

Parody and fan accounts are allowed if clearly labeled as such.

2.3 Location Authenticity

Shouht is built on genuine local connections. The following undermines this:

  • Using location spoofing tools to fake your position
  • Posting about events or locations you are not actually at
  • Manipulating location data to gain unfair advantages (e.g., Location Crown)

3. Enforcement

3.1 Graduated Enforcement

We use a graduated enforcement system. Actions depend on the severity and frequency of violations:

3.2 Immediate Account Bans

Some violations result in immediate permanent bans without warning:

  • Content sexualizing minors (reported to NCMEC and law enforcement)
  • Credible threats of violence
  • Terrorist content or glorification
  • Coordinated harassment campaigns
  • Human trafficking or exploitation

4. Local Moderation

Shouht employs a unique local moderation system where community members help maintain standards in their geographic areas.

4.1 Local Moderators

Local moderators are community members who help maintain guidelines in their area. They are selected based on:

  • Active participation and positive reputation in the community
  • Consistent history of following guidelines
  • Community votes and nominations
  • Trust level progression through responsible moderation

4.2 Moderator Powers

Local moderators can take the following actions within their city:

Account Ban and global actions are reserved for Shouht staff.

4.3 Moderator Accountability

Moderators are held to high standards:

  • All moderation actions are logged and reviewable
  • Moderators who abuse their powers will be demoted and may be banned
  • Users can appeal moderation decisions
  • Patterns of overturned appeals may result in moderator removal

5. Reporting

5.1 How to Report

If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines:

  • Tap the menu icon (⋮) on any Shouht or profile
  • Select "Report" and choose the violation type
  • Provide additional context if helpful
  • For urgent safety issues, also contact local authorities

5.2 What Happens After Reporting

When you submit a report:

  • The report is reviewed by local moderators and/or Shouht staff
  • Appropriate action is taken based on our guidelines
  • We do not reveal who submitted the report
  • You may receive a notification about the outcome (depending on the violation type)

5.3 False Reports

Submitting false or malicious reports is itself a violation of these guidelines. Repeated false reports may result in restrictions on your account.

6. Appeals

If you believe moderation action was taken against your account in error:

  • Go to Settings → Account → Appeals
  • Explain why you believe the decision was incorrect
  • Provide any relevant context or evidence
  • Appeals are typically reviewed within 48-72 hours

Please note: Appeals are reviewed by someone other than the original moderator. Decisions on appeals are final.

7. Updates

We may update these Community Guidelines as our community grows and evolves. When we make significant changes, we will notify users through the app. Continued use of Shouht after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
